At Opul House St. Heliers, you’ll experience a warm and friendly welcome, offering a relaxed holiday atmosphere in the heart of Douglas Promenade. Our guest house sits along the spectacular 2-mile Victorian façade, boasting uninterrupted views across Douglas Bay.
Choose from our 23 comfortable rooms, including Single, Twin, Double, and Family rooms. Each room is equipped with a colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities, and cots are available for infants.
Indulge in a hearty Full English Breakfast or opt for a lighter breakfast with a choice of fruits, juices, and cereals. Packed lunches and evening meals are available on request, and highchairs are provided for our youngest guests.

Centrally located on Central Promenade, St. Heliers Guest House is just a short walk from Douglas town centre. The Villa Marina conference and entertainment complex, the Gaiety Theatre, and the multi-screen cinema are all within easy reach. Our convenient location also provides easy access to railways, bars, and restaurants.
Please note that while we have an internal lift servicing all upper floors, there are 14 steps up to the main reception entrance and 14 stairs down to the dining room, making Opul House not suitable for full-time wheelchair users.

how to find us
By Car: From the airport, follow the A5 towards Douglas and then follow signs for the promenade. We are located approximately 1 mile from the sea terminal.
By Sea: From the sea terminal, follow the promenade for approximately 1 mile to find us.
By Public Transport: Buses operate frequently from the airport and stop at Castle Terrace, just a short walk from our guest house.
You can also enjoy a leisurely ride on the Horse Tram, connecting with the Electric Railway service at one end of the promenade and the Sea Terminal at the other.

“We had a lovely time. Our room was very spacious and clean and tidy. En-suite shower was hot and powerful. Breakfast options were varied and well cooked. Full English, eggs etc. through to just cereals if that was your requirement. The host was lovely - very friendly and knowledgable regarding the area.”
